By: Denise Go Pets are family - they have their own bed or basket, food, clothes, and many more. According to a certain survey, 65 percent of households today own a pet. When we come home from school or work, they always welcome us with a wiggly tail and a friendly bark. Even though you just went to the market for 30 minutes, when you come home, your dog is already waiting for you at the door. You can really see how much your dog missed you. Now, here are 11 things only dog lovers understand. 1. Finding for the perfect name. Owning a dog means giving them cute names. We as the owner can’t make up our minds easily. Picking a name is very crucial because names are permanent that’s why we should be witty in picking the perfect cute name for them. It is said that when the name of your pet has only two syllables, it easily remembers its name. 2. Dogs are babies. Even though they are animals and we’re humans, we still consider them like a baby. No matter how big they get, they’ll always be our little baby. No one can hurt our babies. 3. We can’t resist buying them cute clothes. What’s more adorable than seeing our dogs with clothes? There’s also some footwear available for dogs. Not all pets are comfortable in wearing clothes, that’s why, if your pet is still young, let them wear clothes so that they’ll get used to it. 4. Their grooming is way more expensive than ours. Humans can get a haircut in less than 100 pesos, but for our pets, it costs more than 100 pesos. When we say grooming for our pets, we’re talking about from head down to their paws. However, not all dogs need constant grooming, a quick bath would do. It depends on the type of hair they have. 5. We can’t resist them. Let’s be honest, we simply can’t resist a cute face with matching puppy eyes. Just like a baby, we tend to spoil them with food, toys and accessories. 6. Your bed is their bed too. Who doesn’t love sleeping next to those adorable babies? There are times that the rule “no pets allowed on the bed” is being disregarded. Sleeping next to our pets gives both party security during bed time. 7. Thunderstorms and fireworks are a big problem. According to research, dogs can hear about two times better and they can also hear sounds approximately four times farther away than us. The sound of thunderstorms and fireworks are much louder for dogs and that’s the reason why they get scared. There are also some alternatives we can do to calm down our dogs, just like putting cotton in their ears or putting them in a room with a loud radio or television. 8. You have tons of pictures of them in your phone or tablet. 30 percent of every dog lover’s phone or tablet consists of photos of their dog or other people’s dog. Every time our dogs have a funny or cute position when they fall asleep, we immediately get our gadget and snap a photo of them. Their cuteness never fades, that’s why better buy a larger memory card. 9. During bath time, they suddenly disappear. They love water, but most of the dogs hate bath time, weird right? When they sense that you’re preparing their towel or shampoo, they suddenly hide. When you call them, they don’t come that’s why as a responsible dog lover and owner, you need to be sneaky when it comes to bath time. 10. We can’t stay mad at them. Our dogs are like kids, they do silly stuffs like play with slippers, towels, papers, and many more. If they ruin or damage things, we get mad. The weird thing is, we can’t stay mad at them even for five minutes. We always forgive the ones we love. 11. They know if we’re not okay.
Pets have this strong sense wherein they easily know if you have a big problem. Especially if you’re crying, they sit by your side and lick your face until you stop crying. Pets are our happy pills.

by Nicole Arzadon“Love is not that powerful because when pain strikes the heart, love fades away no matter how great it is.” This statement is quite striking. Some of us think that love conquers all. Love is perfect, but for me it is not. There are many choices in love in love and some of them are tough and challenging. They test one’s heart, feeling and most especially determination.
Move on or simply let go… When you say “I have moved on”, it means that you have realized that it’s over. The feelings are still there but are able to ignore it. It is simply forgetting someone because you’re tired of the pain that is breaking your heart into pieces. Moving on is not that easy, but still you could if you would try. It’s a lie to say you’ve let go of the past. Nobody let go of the memories. Each tear is unforgettable memory, each smile is undeniable mark and every heart break is unreasonable scar. When you let go, you totally accepted the fact that the person that you used to call “mine” is no longer “yours.” Which is better anyway? Think of it. You might say you’ve moved on and let go. But deep inside, you haven’t, you never did and you never will. Give up or fight for your love… “I will never give up on you.”—a statement that really be appreciated. It is definitely hard to let go of someone you truly love. It is also hard to force yourself to forget him when you know deep inside that you can’t. You need to, because he didn’t give you any reason to stay. What if you love someone, but he can only be happy if you’ll set him free. Or what if you both love each other but there are so many obstacles and hindrances around you, will you still stay strong and fight for your love? These are some situations wherein you experience difficulties in choosing the right thing to do. Where can love be measured, when you give up or when you fight for your love? The person you love but don’t love you or the person you don’t love but loves you? ... Indeed, love hurts. Loving someone who can’t love you back is like loving a person without a heart and without any appreciation. Well, you can’t blame him. He’s in love with another person, Maybe he is not the right one. There is no such thing as Mr. and Mrs. Right, it’s for you to make things work out, make things right. Don’t let the pain ruin your life. What if you will choose the one who loves you but you don’t like him, don’t ignore him. One day you might wake up and you might realize that you’ve lost the moon while counting the stars. Which is better anyway? These are some of the complicated choices in love. You can still name more. Beyond those things, destiny is still there. If you’re meant to be, things will fall into place, that’s what they say. If chance come grab the opportunity. Remember, things never happen the same way twice. Love without any regret. by Nicole ArzadonEverybody wants to become successful. Everybody wants to achieve many accomplishments and everybody wants to reach his dreams. Success is the instance wherein we already attained our dreams completely. It is also the process of attaining something by working hard. But how can we achieve success?
If you can notice, there’s a difference between simple success and true success. Success is simple achieving something that you are not expecting that it may come true; while true success is achieving something which is really worth it. It is in the manner of working very hard that you have to sacrifice for it. In our life, many people base success with the money or power you have. Even though you are richest and the highest official in our country but your personality is bad, you’re not successful. Yes, you’re rich and powerful, so what? Your life is still incomplete. The true basis ofhappiness is when you are living a simple but happy life, eating three times a day and having many friends. Even students can be considered successful if he really tries his best to study hard. If we try to realize “we are successful”, maybe a simple bike that does not have gears to get to the road of success makes us successful. Therefore, even if we love a hundred times we should still remember to never give up and have faith in God. I remember the song of Barry Manilow; “I make it through the rain and made myself respected. I made it through the rain and made my point of view. But the others do I made it through. May all of us someday be proud of saying these phrases. This is a challenge for us to become successful by working hard and trusting in God. by Marve SanggalangThat thing called paranoid human beings always have a question, questions that make their lives complicated, consume a huge time in wondering and finding the answers and questions that will hinder them from falling sleep.
Asking questions is a good sign that you are aware of your environment, you care for the people or things around you and sometimes or I should say most of the time human beings create questions out of nowhere when they are depressed this is what they call “Paranoid” human brain tend to create problems and questions that don't even exist. Do questions like what if? Do I really have a purpose? Can I make it? Etc. Here are two major reasons why a person feels so Paranoid. He/She had a traumatic experience. A person who has a traumatic experience tend to lose their self-esteem. Just for example back when you were a child you've experienced being bullied that experience you have will register to your mind. Since human brain remembers bad memories than good ones that are the reason why every time you face the public and try to socialize with other people, you always think and ask yourself questions that will only lower your confidence. He/She is a negative thinker This is when a person exposes to an extreme sadness and undergo a great fall. Once a person encounter defeat, regret and failing his/her mind always remind him/her that in every action he/she going to make he/she will question his/her capability and even his/her own self. The outcome of his/her actions will always be negative as what he/she is thinking and sadly he/she will keep on asking his/herself questions that will only lead him/her to failing on doing something because there is no focus. His/Her mind is full of negativity that is why it somehow affects his/her actions. The best way to fight the feeling of being paranoid is to talk to yourself build your own confidence, Self talk really helps a lot. The best help you can have is not to the person around you but to your own self. Don't think too much. by Luzmharie SolisHave you asked yourself why does a broken family exist? Why would they decide to break down a family when in the first place they’ve created it. Here are some possible reasons:
First, is that the parents don’t love each other anymore. The love between the two of them faded already that’s why they chose to part ways. And also, you can notice the people who chose to break up were not happy anymore in their marriage. Secondly, they don't understand each other. When they argue, they will come to the point that they are already hurting each other physically. They don't have a healthy relationship and functional marriage. Lastly, they've been cheating each other or one of them is cheating. That's the very reason why broken families exist. Cheating is very hurtful to somebody that has been cheated on by someone they love. I hope that through this article, you’ll realize why does a broken family exist nowadays. By: Christelle MarambaAs I turn a year older, I’ve come to several realizations.
First, getting older can be sh*#ty at times. The number of friends greeting you for your birthday gets smaller and smaller every year but the ones who still does, especially those who gives you gifts and greets you with long messages, are the ones who really care about you. Forget those times where you get mountains of gifts and cake, as you get older, you’ll get no cake and be happy if you get a single gift. Second, keeping in touch with all your friends is difficult. Keeping contact with all your friends might be a bit difficult, most especially when some of them are far away. No matter how much we want to hold onto as much friends as we can, some are bound to fall through the gaps of our hands because we are not the carefree kids we are used to being, the kids with plenty of free time and a better social life, now we are the semi-adults trying to learn how to be an adult properly and most of our time are spent sleeping. Third, Adulthood is like a college. Adulthood is a course and we are freshmen once again. Being an adult is so different from what we are used to because adults know how to manage time properly, adults know how to make good decisions, adults know how to take care of themselves, etc., and we do not properly know how to do these things as of yet, so we learn again. Fourth, drinking alcohol is not such a bad thing. Most of us grow up thinking that alcohol is bad and vow to never drink a drop of it, if you are one of these people, prepare to eat your words. Being a senior in college and having the pressure of being a successful professional on your back, alcohol can be your best friend. I’m not saying you should drink excessively, but drinking moderately, and only when you absolutely need it, can help boost your mood and feelings. Fifth, Sleeping is God’s gift from above. When we were younger, we hated taking naps because we lost precious time to play. Now, however, you are going to pray for sleep. We might be a bit late in realizing how important sleep is, but as they say, better late than never. Sixth, I don’t have 20 realizations. I actually just have a few. Turning 20 makes us an adult in age, but our maturity still depends on us. Life doesn’t give out handbooks or guidelines on “How to Adult properly”, we learn by trial and error, so don’t feel pressured if you turn 20 and still not know how to cook or drive or swim, etc., because we still have plenty of time to actually learn those things. Just because we lost the word “teen” in our age doesn’t mean that we have lost the privilege of being carefree, being 20 just means we need to start thinking wisely and stop thinking of just ourselves. Thinking of adulthood can be scary at times; we do not know where to place ourselves. We are going to face more challenges and responsibilities, so be brave. Maturing is inevitable, so let us grow up and be wise with grace and dignity. Happy 20! by James De VeraSocial media plays a vital role in the society of today's modern era, but are we using these social networking sites properly? Are we helping the social media world upgrade or are we just contributing to its downfall?
Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and Snapchat are some of the most popular social networking sites in the world. Here, you can post what's on your mind, upload pictures and videos, and share insights about many things. This advancement in technology also made communication easier and faster. However, this milestone in humanity could also be the reason of its fall. Social networking sites are very popular in our country. Filipinos now mostly spend their time in updating their status, chatting with friends, and posting rants about nonsense things. And even worse, some of our countrymen are misleading the public with wrong information and spreading computer viruses through clickbaits. It's official, we have gone beyond the limit. Social media is made for the society to become closer. It is created to fix humanity and restore order, not to mislead the people. Our citizens need to be more responsible as netizens. Social networking might be a weapon of love or an instrument of doom. Beware. By: Denise Go We all have our own set of friends and honestly, there will always be times when we feel like an outcast, loner, lost or incomplete if we’re not with them. Friends are vital components in our lives because they serve as our second family. When we can’t find comfort in our home we run to our friends, and when we have other problems like love problems, we also run to our friends for advice.
All of us belong to a certain squad, but first, let’s define what squad is. In a dictionary, squad is simply a small group of individuals trained to work together as a unit. On the other hand, squad in a millennial term is considered to be group of friends. Here are some things to keep in mind in your small or big squad. 1. FOOD AND ROAD TRIPS Food and road trips are the best! All human beings love food and travel. What’s more fantastic than spending one of the best days of your life with your buddies? Experiencing new things is a must, as they say, live your life to the fullest! Going on a food or road trip, you and your buddies discover more new things about each other and you guys also get to bond even more. 2. SHOPPING IS A MUST Shopping with your squad is also another bonding activity. For women, shopping with your squad is a wonderful idea because just like a mother, they also know what’s best for you in a fashion sense. Most of the time, they also have a great sense of fashion which makes them your fashion advisers. For men, shopping with your buddies is different. 60 percent of men usually like to shop alone because most of them have their own sense of fashion. 3. DARK DAYS Dark days are bad days, wherein there could be a misunderstanding between you guys. These are the days when everything is awkward and quiet. This thing normally happens, but don’t worry because for sure you guys will be back to normal in no time. Having a clash in your squad is normal, and most of the times, having these kinds of conflicts are healthy because your friendship will be put to test. Lowering your pride is never a bad thing. No matter whose fault it is, saying sorry makes everything right. If you guys have a problem, better resolve it as early as possible because hiding anger in your heart and mind is not good. 4. SERIOUS TALKS There are days wherein you guys are just sitting somewhere out there, eating, talking, laughing and then the topic of your conversation becomes more serious about life. These are the best kind of talks because you can just release all your thoughts. You guys also forget about checking your phone for messages or even checking what time it is. 5. THEY GOT YOUR BACK Your squad always got your back, especially during difficult days. Squad lifts your spirit up, they will always make us feel that everything will be fine and they’ll be there for you, no matter what the battle is, the squad got you! Having a perfect squad is impossible, because there will never be a perfect person in the universe. God made us to be unique and each and every one of us is special in our own ways. Friends accept who we are but they also help us to become who we should be. Our squad got our back and they will always be our second family. by James De VeraAre you traveling via Manaoag-Dagupan jeepneys? Have you ever been late for class or work because of their overstaying at jeepney stops? It may sound weird to everyone that a simple jeepney stop can ruin someone’s day, but believe me, it really does.
We begin our trip in Manaoag. First, you need to outpace, outsmart and outbox other commuters for you to get a comfortable seat. Next, you need to wait until all or almost all seats are occupied. This may take up five to seven minutes, so extreme patience will be needed. From Manaoag, the first jeepney stop will be in the Sta. Maria Junction, San Jacinto. This stop may only eat a few seconds depending on the driver’s mood or if there’s any commuter in the area. Next will be in the town proper of San Jacinto, where two stops will be testing your patience. The first is in front of the church while the other one is at the San Vicente Junction. This might take another five minutes each so while waiting, it would be a good idea for you to use this time to review, play games on your mobile phone or do anything that will take your boredom away. If you think these stops have already challenged your patience, you better think again. Mangaldan, the busiest town on your route to Dagupan might make you lose your mind. Aside from the heavy traffic mainly because of their pedaled cabs, this municipality has the most frustrating jeepney stops. The first two stops, St. Thomas Church and Mercury Drug, will not eat most of your time in Mangaldan but the succeeding jeepney stops will really challenge your composure. The Market stop could take 5-7 minutes, so during this time you might consider transferring to a bus if you can’t take it anymore. After the market stop is the Mapandan Junction, arguably the most frustrating jeepney stop in town. Its 10 minutes of maximum waiting time will slowly kill you emotionally and mentally. After this torture in the central district of Mangaldan, you will now reach Saipan junction in Anolid, the last jeepney stop on your way to Dagupan. Like in Sta. Maria, Saipan is just a minor jeepney stop. The driver may decide not to stop by there, especially if there’s no commuter in sight. After Anolid, expect to be in the city in 10-15 minutes as no allocated stops for Manaoag jeepneys are given until in the Dagupan East Junction Station. If you survived this trip without cursing the driver and conductor in your mind, you are not human. Friendly tip: Better ride a bus or van if you don’t want your day to be ruined. |
