By: Denise Go Pets are family - they have their own bed or basket, food, clothes, and many more. According to a certain survey, 65 percent of households today own a pet. When we come home from school or work, they always welcome us with a wiggly tail and a friendly bark. Even though you just went to the market for 30 minutes, when you come home, your dog is already waiting for you at the door. You can really see how much your dog missed you. Now, here are 11 things only dog lovers understand. 1. Finding for the perfect name. Owning a dog means giving them cute names. We as the owner can’t make up our minds easily. Picking a name is very crucial because names are permanent that’s why we should be witty in picking the perfect cute name for them. It is said that when the name of your pet has only two syllables, it easily remembers its name. 2. Dogs are babies. Even though they are animals and we’re humans, we still consider them like a baby. No matter how big they get, they’ll always be our little baby. No one can hurt our babies. 3. We can’t resist buying them cute clothes. What’s more adorable than seeing our dogs with clothes? There’s also some footwear available for dogs. Not all pets are comfortable in wearing clothes, that’s why, if your pet is still young, let them wear clothes so that they’ll get used to it. 4. Their grooming is way more expensive than ours. Humans can get a haircut in less than 100 pesos, but for our pets, it costs more than 100 pesos. When we say grooming for our pets, we’re talking about from head down to their paws. However, not all dogs need constant grooming, a quick bath would do. It depends on the type of hair they have. 5. We can’t resist them. Let’s be honest, we simply can’t resist a cute face with matching puppy eyes. Just like a baby, we tend to spoil them with food, toys and accessories. 6. Your bed is their bed too. Who doesn’t love sleeping next to those adorable babies? There are times that the rule “no pets allowed on the bed” is being disregarded. Sleeping next to our pets gives both party security during bed time. 7. Thunderstorms and fireworks are a big problem. According to research, dogs can hear about two times better and they can also hear sounds approximately four times farther away than us. The sound of thunderstorms and fireworks are much louder for dogs and that’s the reason why they get scared. There are also some alternatives we can do to calm down our dogs, just like putting cotton in their ears or putting them in a room with a loud radio or television. 8. You have tons of pictures of them in your phone or tablet. 30 percent of every dog lover’s phone or tablet consists of photos of their dog or other people’s dog. Every time our dogs have a funny or cute position when they fall asleep, we immediately get our gadget and snap a photo of them. Their cuteness never fades, that’s why better buy a larger memory card. 9. During bath time, they suddenly disappear. They love water, but most of the dogs hate bath time, weird right? When they sense that you’re preparing their towel or shampoo, they suddenly hide. When you call them, they don’t come that’s why as a responsible dog lover and owner, you need to be sneaky when it comes to bath time. 10. We can’t stay mad at them. Our dogs are like kids, they do silly stuffs like play with slippers, towels, papers, and many more. If they ruin or damage things, we get mad. The weird thing is, we can’t stay mad at them even for five minutes. We always forgive the ones we love. 11. They know if we’re not okay.
Pets have this strong sense wherein they easily know if you have a big problem. Especially if you’re crying, they sit by your side and lick your face until you stop crying. Pets are our happy pills.
