By: Patricia Baguio Resignation is one phase of working life which most people go through. In the point of view of the people resigning, it is definitely not an end, but a beginning of another journey of discovering self-worth and capabilities. It is a courageous act of leaving one’s hell or comfort zones. It is risking and exchanging all you’ve invested in something you’re not sure if better. Indeed, it is easier to leave than be left.
In the perspective of the people left, resignation may be a sign of giving up. That may explain why they hold on to their positions because they are afraid to be judged as cowards neither do they want to be considered martyrs. So they reflect whenever other people leave. What’s wrong? Where’s the wrong? Once they answered their own questions they start to feel either superior because they survived or they feel inferior because they were left in the work which the resigned disliked. However, when they reflect in their own terms and found nothing wrong with the work or their workmates, they would nag themselves for forgetting that stereotyping is no longer a fad!
