By: Christelle MarambaNarcissism is a personal disorder that shows excessive amounts of behaviors like self-importance, vanity, self-absorption and egotistic admiration of oneself. Narcissism is a ME, ME, ME and More ME attitude. Sadly, this disorder is becoming common nowadays, and it’s all thanks to Social Media. A small research published in the journal Computers in Human Behavior, shows that social media sites like Twitter and Facebook are used to feed our egos and fuel our narcissistic tendencies. It is no surprise that the frequent usage of social media has narcissism as a side effect, since social media is used to promote ourselves socially. However, social media narcissism has its lasting effects that can affect us in the real world. If we are Facebook famous, Instagram important or something of the like, we might develop the tendency of wiring our brains into thinking we are also important or famous off of our social media sites, we then start having a sense of entitlement and a bigger head and ego. This is a big No-No. Below is a video of ways to determine if you are a narcissist by Asap Thoughts, if you find yourself relating to what the video shows then it is time to do a bit of self-reflection.
