by Denise GoPeople for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) is known for having tons of advocacies when it comes to animal rights. With the popular game Pokémon Go, PETA made a parody game out of it. It’s entitled PETA’s Pokémon Black & Blue.
Catching Pokémonare quite similar from taking animals out of the wild and placing them in captivity like circuses, zoos, and many more. PETA said they know that players understand that Pokémon is just a game so no animals are in real danger, but then again, it would be wonderful if Nintendo could influence the people to help real-life captive animals. PETA designated their Los Angeles office as a “safe zone” where trainers cannot capture or fight Pokémon. They even placed signs outside the Echo Park office for the public to notice. PETA made another fantastic advocacy and they surely saw this chance to once again teach and let the public reflect on how to properly treat real animals.
