The event started with the entrance of professors and instructors from different departments and CSSSC officers followed by the message of dean Joseph Richard Mejia and the opening remarks of the CSS governor, Joemer Prado. In the said event, the awarding of winners of the recently concluded CSS playoffs took place. John Russel Flores and Nessie Ann Junio was chosen as the face of the night as one of the special awards and Rommel Garcia and Jessa Radoval was the best dress awardee. The CSS night aims to build camaraderie and rapport among the students and as well as with the faculty members of the said department.

by James De VeraUPSTO Earth Titans once again proved their dominance in the College of Social Sciences Clash of the Titans 2016, capturing yet another overall title after a masterful display in this year’s tournament.
The defending champions grabbed 250 points, miles away from second placers Tactical Group Air Titans’ 195 points, third placers Mass Communication Fire Titans’ 170 points and fourth placers Political Science Water Titans’ 165 points. In the Board Games Category which consisted chess, scrabble, word factory and game of the generals, the future educators led the pack with 140 points while Mass Communication collected the second most with 100 points. Air Titans came third with 85 points while the Water Titans got the least points with 75 points. Criminology students showed their prowess in the Ball Games Category garnering 95 points, winning both Basketball Men and Women and Volleyball Men. The Earth Titans came second with 70 points, edging out the 65 points of the Water Titans, thanks to their victory in the Women’s Volleyball, while the Fire Titans settled for last place garnering only 50 points. The Earth Titans also showed their mettle in the Special Events winning both CSS Icons and CSS Scholastics. With those wins, the Student Teachers gets an additional merit of 40 points while other departments also gathered some with PolSci getting 25, MassComm collecting 20 and the Tactical Group bagging 15. Fire titans (Mass Communication students) showed-off their talents along with their "hot and spicy" aura. Flaunting their banners "UPACS United", future media practitioners boosted their support for their fellow fire titans who enthusiastically joined the department's event which made them land on the first place. On the other hand, Earth Titans (Education students) got the title and Water Titans (Political Science students) on the second place. by Marve SangalangHeavy rain didn't stop the burning spirit of College of Engineering and Architecture (CEA) students of PHINMA University of Pangasinan to light their torch and officially open their annual Palarong CEA dubbed as CEA CHAMP last Monday, August 1, at the University Gymnasium.
